Brick & Mortar and New Technologies Thrive Together in the Retail Space

Technology is constantly evolving in today’s retail landscape, with brick-and-mortar following closely behind the trends. Incorporating things such as augmented reality (AR) or artificial intelligence (AI) into brick-and-mortar retail stores will allow these popular technology advancements to grow even larger.

Despite the popular belief that e-commerce platforms are the preferred way to shop, approximately 91% of all retail sales are transacted in a brick-and-mortar location. And by 2025, 80% of all retail sales will still take place in physical stores, said an article published in Forbes.

That being said, for technology in the retail space to continue to develop and expand, there needs to be a brick and mortar infrastructure incorporated. This will bring the most awareness to tech advancements and will also allow users to test things out in-person.
