After introducing Afterpay to brick-and-mortar stores in October, the company has grown tremendously. The service is now in over 60,000 stores across the US. Afterpay’s retail partnerships include Mac, Steve Madden, H&M, The North Face, Timberland, and a variety of other brands.
The brand has recently hosted its annual “Afterpay Day” which is a shopping promotion run during a four day period with sales and deals from thousands of beauty, retail and lifestyle brands. The shopping event is one of the biggest sales drivers for merchants across the county. Afterpay has made it a priority to include brick-and-mortar retail at the core of their promotional event. During the last Afterpay Day, retailers saw their sales grow by 36%, with the average number of new customers increased by 46%. In December 2020, 45 million customer referrals were sent to retailers globally from Afterpay’s Shop Directory.
With the app’s recent venture from digital to physical, omnichannel has become a key focus. As they continue to make waves in the industry, this will help to strengthen the overall infrastructure of brick-and-mortar retail and what it is today.
