Slowear’s growth plans will start in the US, with the opening of its first Chicago-based store. The 1,150 SF unit will open on Oct. 12 in Chicago’s West Loop.
The high-end fashion company’s flagship stores feature an open layout that is designed to showcase the variety of brands they house in-store. Slowear’s US expansion will also include planned openings in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco by 2023.
This growth initiative showcases the Italian retailer’s efforts to create a momentous stride for brick and mortar, in light of the current pandemic. The increase of Slowear’s physical footprint will also bring a new-found focus on their omnichannel presence.
“In light of the positive development of our 30 stores and despite these difficult and uncertain times, we’ve decided to accelerate our retail project. This means that we’ll focus on an integrated development of our digital platform, slowear.com, with physical stores in an omnichannel perspective,” said Roberto Campagno, Slowear’s Chief Executive Officer.
Slowear is a family business concept and an Italian lifestyle project stemming from a long industrial history, combining four historic Italian fashion brands that share a high level of specialisation. Slowear was built on this heritage of know-how and product-centric passion, and promotes a ‘durable’ fashion concept, featuring inner and outer qualities that make it immune to the passing of time and fleeting trends. This philosophy caters to a need that is becoming more and more urgent in the fashion industry: spreading a more ethical and sustainable consumption model.
