As we enter into 2024, many retailers have their sights set on store openings.
With goals to ignite ambitious brick-and-mortar expansion plans, these retailers are ready to focus on physical throughout the new year:
Academy Sports + Outdoors
Academy’s long-term growth plan is to open 120-140 new stores by 2027, expanding its footprint by over 50% in new and existing markets.
The retailer plans to bring its total store count to over 800.
The boot retailer plans to open 50+ stores in 2024. As a long-term goal, the company aims to grow to 900 or more stores in the US. Currently, they operate 371 stores.
Dick’s Sporting Goods
Dick’s will launch at least 10 experiential locations for House of Sport throughout the new year. The company plans to have 75-100 of these store concepts nationwide.
800 new stores are slated for Dollar General, along with 1,500 remodels and 85 relocations. This also includes new Pop Shelf locations.
The discount chain is expected to have at least 255 new stores in 2024, with a long-term goal of 3,500 total stores.
The department store chain plans to open up 30 more small-format stores through 2025. Macy’s will also expand its Bloomie’s concept as well.
Nordstrom Rack will open 10 or more stores throughout the new year.
The retailer has announced four new locations planned for 2024.
Rothy’s currently operates 18 stores and is planning to bet big on brick-and-mortar in the new year. The company will open at least 10 new stores in the US.
Doubling their store openings in 2023, the company plans to add 20 new locations to their footprint in the US and Canada.
