We are excited to welcome John Caputo to SREG. With 28+ years of experience in the Commercial Backed Securities space, as Director of Capital Markets, Caputo is responsible for all aspects relating to Capital Markets and CMBS. Caputo’s background includes work as an originator, underwriter, quantitative analyst and trader, both of securities and derivatives.
“I found SPINOSO to be forward-thinking and driven. That alone made the decision pretty straight-forward to join the SREG team,” said Caputo in a recent welcome meeting with the company. “It’s a different environment. Similar to where I was coming from – it was a familiar environment; a strong sense of comradery – as a whole, not just within specific departments. And that was important to me.”
Prior to joining Spinoso Real Estate Group, Caputo was a Portfolio Manager for Metacapital Management. There he spent over three years analyzing the retail mall sector for an eventual derivative trade in the space. In addition, he was a Directing Certificate Holder on a legacy CMBS transaction collateralized by a regional shopping mall and took an active role in supervising the management of the property.
“Carmen is very open to looking at new ideas and new ways of attacking a different strategy, continued Caputo. “Visiting SPINOSO’s corporate office solidified it for me – that this was a welcoming environment, with a strong team culture – and that was refreshing to me. Then it was a matter of whether we had the same vision. And it made it an easy and exciting decision.”
Caputo’s vast experience combined with his passion for the industry will be an incredible asset to SREG, and we are confident in his ability to play a vital role in the company’s success.
