Warby Parker bets on brick and mortar, plans to open 30-35 stores this year

Tuesday, Sep 28, 2021

Warby Parker gave exclusive guidance into their plans for its fiscal year, noting a positive sentiment towards brick-and-mortar retail. The brand expects a record net revenue increase of 35% from 2020 numbers. Third quarter net revenues are anticipated to reach up to $133 million.

Since starting out as a sole direct to consumer company, Warby Parking has been actively growing their brick-and-mortar footprint to offset the frictions of e-commerce. The brand plans  to open 30-35 new stores this year, pushing their total store count to nearly 160.

“Throughout the first half of 2021 we’ve continued to observe strong and consistent revenue growth. As we look ahead to the remainder of the year and into 2022, we expect these trends to sustain, supported by continued strong customer economics, our expanding retail footprint, as well as continued steady increases in active customers and average order value as we evolve into a holistic vision care company,” said Steve Miller, Chief Financial Officer.
