Lyter Side Business Association was formed with a vision to bring the plaza and surrounding area back to life. They are currently working on grants for new lighting entering the plaza and a complete streetscape area. The neighboring community of Westmont is pursuing grants to develop a new recreational facility.
Downtown Johnstown has been undergoing significant revitalization in recent years and has seen significant private and public investment. Several downtown commercial buildings have been redeveloped as apartment and condominium units, and Johnstown’s Central Park has been equipped with WiFi technology, hosting numerous summer concerts and festivals.
