PRESS RELEASE: Spinoso Real Estate Group completes deal with Tre Ragazzi, The Alley and Martin’s

Thursday, Nov 5, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GADSDEN, AL —  Three major tenants, Tre Ragazzi, The Alley, and Martin’s Family Clothing, have made plans to open at Gadsden Mall. Tre Ragazzi and The Alley are set to open in the former Sears box space, while Martin’s Family Clothing will take over JCPenney’s space.

These deals are a part of Spinoso’s initiative to revitalize properties, such as Gadsden Mall. And in particular, to revitalize large vacant buildings previously occupied by JCPenney and Sears. Attracting new, vibrant retailers, dining establishments, and entertainment venues is a key part of their efforts to continue to make an impact on the property and the local community.

“We’re thrilled to welcome three new exceptional tenants to Gadsden Mall,” said Carmen D. Spinoso, Chairman and CEO of the national real estate firm, SREG, “We’re excited about the opportunity and the positive impact the new tenants will have not only in revitalizing the spaces previously occupied by JCPenney and Sears, but also the value it will bring to the community.”

Tre Ragazzi’s Italian Café is a family-owned restaurant that currently has two locations in Alabama. The Italian eatery will occupy a 5,000 SF space. Tre Ragazzi offers a range of Italian foods, including specialty pizzas, pasta dishes, sandwiches and more.

The Alley is a large-scale, family-focused entertainment center, with an 18-lane bowling alley, 60-seat video arcade, virtual reality features, indoor food truck and private party rooms. Gadsden Mall will serve as The Alley’s first-ever location. Renovations for the 35,000 SF family-fun center have been completed, with an official opening date on the horizon.

Martin’s Family Clothing is an 87,694 SF full-service regional department store that has operated for nearly 90 years. Gadsden Mall will be their first-ever mall location as they take over the space formerly occupied by JCPenney. In a creative experiment, Martin’s had “tested the market” last holiday season by opening on a temporary basis. The reception from the Gadsden community was so strong, that an agreement was reached to renovate the building and enter into a long-term agreement to anchor the mall. Martin’s has six other physical locations throughout Alabama.

“Additionally,” Spinoso continued, “The three deals are indicative of the demand we’re seeing for quality locations (like the former JCPenney and Sears buildings) that can be re-envisioned with an exciting mixture of retail, entertainment and dining.”
