James Dolan, former General Manager at an enclosed mall in Las Cruces, New Mexico, is uprooting his life to move nearly 1,400 miles to continue to be part of the SREG team.
“I wanted to come back not only because of the SPINOSO culture, but because I realized that the ownership of the mall not only placed a lot of trust in the SPINOSO corporate office, but also the GM’s. Being invited back to the company was an honor,” noted Dolan.
Dolan has served in the industry for over 20 years. His story with SREG started in Las Cruces, New Mexico as GM of an asset SREG acquired to manage in 2016. The property was recently put on market, and transferred out of SREG’s portfolio. Dolan thought his time with SPINOSO had ended, until an opportunity was placed in front of him.
Dolan’s impact at SREG had made a lasting impression that translated into his ability to succeed long-term. A GM position opened shortly after at another SREG property, and Dolan was recommended for the role by a team member.
Dolan’s dedication to move nearly 1,400 miles to work for SREG speaks volumes about his passion to be part of the company. On a recent welcome call, he expressed some takeaways about his time with SREG in Las Cruses, and his excitement to rejoin the team.
There were a lot of factors that played into Dolan’s decision to return to the company, but an authentic and efficient work culture was the most influential. Dolan had experienced a work ethic at SREG unlike any other – the corporate team worked quick on their feet to make decisions, which helped the flow and cohesiveness of the field team. Being quick to respond at the corporate level helped to build trust between all roles. It also helped that Dolan could easily confide in SREG’s leadership team with any questions or issues.
“It’s very rare that a field employee can contact the CEO or owner of a company to clarify things and be involved in calls. It leads back to the communication flow. Carmen feels comfortable calling the field personnel if he’s got a question. He always seems available. The quicker the communication flow the more efficient the answer. There’s no waiting around. It leads to a sense of trust. It builds confidence when the CEO has trust in you, it gives you confidence and helps to manage your personnel easier,” said Dolan.
Dolan noticed the synergy between the leasing, management and the leadership teams at SREG. He felt his ideas and opinions were valued from day one at the company, which translated into a positive atmosphere, with a clear focus on culture and people.
Culture has been cultivated at the forefront of SREG to create a family-like environment, and that has always been evident to Dolan. He felt recognized and cared for, and wanted that to continue as he moved forward in his career.
“When you’re acquired by SPINOSO, there’s an instant recognition and it’s like you’re accepted into the family. It’s definitely a great environment, moving towards the forefront of technology and it’s a great corporate culture to work with. I’m looking forward to it,” said Dolan.
